Enzyme Activities of Defense - related Proteins in Sesame Tissues Infected by Fusarium oxysporum

Abstract
Enzyme activities which were related to pathogenesis-related protein and expression of resistance were investigated in various sesame tissues infected by Fusarium oxysporum. Activity of peroxidase in infected tissues was higher than that in healthy tissues, and infection caused a stimulation of peroxidase activity by fifty fold in stem tissue at 14 days after inoculation. There were no significant changes in activities of PAL in root and stem tissues, however, phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) activity in leaf tissue increased at 7 days after inoculation. Infection induced a rapid increase of IAA oxidase activity in root and stem tissue.
